There’s one obvious choice for people buying and selling a property in Newquay: Newquay Property Centre.

It’s partly because nobody sells more property here than we do* – and lots of properties means lots of buyers coming ‘through our doors’.

It’s partly because we achieve good prices for our clients’ properties, achieving an incredible 96% of our valuation figures on average+.

And it’s partly because we sell quickly: achieving an accepted offer within 68 days on average+.

But it’s also because we realise that selling your home is more than just a numbers game. It’s about understanding people, why they’re selling or buying, and what’s important to them.

That understanding comes from, well, simply having been doing this job here for a long time. Because after all, there’s no substitute for experience.

Meet The Team

Andrew Hopkinson

Andrew Hopkinson - Owner & Director

I've been in Cornwall since 1965 and in Newquay since 1973 but am told I still can’t call myself a local, even though I reckon I know this place as well as anyone!

I do love exploring Cornwall – there’s always a new cove, café or pub to find. For beaches I’d recommend Porth / Poly Joke. Huge at low tide, less crowded than some better known ones, and great for dogs too.

My wife Deborah and I started this agency back in 1994 with incredible foresight at choosing such a Google-friendly name! Despite all that time, the best part of the job is seeing people’s excitement as they collect the keys to their new home.

Deborah Hopkinson

Deborah Hopkinson - Owner & Director

Andrew and I have been here since we opened our doors in 1994, and I love the camaraderie of the office – we’re like a little family! I look after the admin in the back office – someone has to ‘man’ the engine room.

Being proper Cornish (unlike Andrew!) and having been in Newquay since 1965, I’d recommend a blowy walk on the cliffs between Poly Joke and Holywell Bay, and Sunday lunch at the Plume of Feathers in Mitchell. The sort of pub people crave…

I’m also a local parish councillor, which I love as it’s great for getting involved in local life and meeting new people.

When not doing any of these things, spending time with our daughters and grandchildren is also important for us both, and we try to do that as much as we can.

Daniel Peel

Daniel Peel - Sales Manager

With four children as well as running a busy office there’s not much spare time in my life, but try to take the family to Porth beach as often as we can, and my surfboard to Tolcarne on rare outings!

I’ve been in the job since 2003 and with NPC since 2006. Sounds creepy, but I genuinely love everything about this job, especially the buzz of closing a sale and knowing we’ve given the best service we can.

I’m Cornish-born too and apart from a six-year stint in the RAF have always lived in the area. The Falcon at St Mawgan is my favourite pub – a proper village pub and my local. Also the Red Lion in the town centre – the best live music venue around.

Zoe Machin

Zoe Machin - Senior Negotiator

I’ve been in estate agency for 12 years, and nearly all of that with the lovely team here at Newquay Property Centre. I love this job because I love making people’s dreams come true – sounds horribly cheesy, but true!

Newquay is an awesome place, especially Crantock beach and up the Gannel estuary when the tide is out, and the stunning cliffs, an incredible place for running.

Family time is also really important of course, and love a Sunday lunch at Lewinnick Lodge up on Pentire Headland. Steak night on a Wednesday is good there too!

It seems like we’ve all been here a long time, and I’m no exception: I started here in 1998, and still love helping people navigate their way through the property market to find the right home, or the right buyer.

In my spare time, such as it is, I love a walk along Crantock beach (voted best British beach!) and up the cliffs to the Bowgie Inn at West Pentire (where my husband and son have been known to gig with their respective bands!). The scenery around there is just stunning and can’t think of anywhere nicer to live!

Linzi Hawky

Linzi Hawky - Administrator

I was born in Newquay, moved away for 11 years, but was lured back by the call of the coast. One of my favourite places is Lusty Glaze: worth the treacherous steps to get to the delightful setting of the restaurant/café, the private beach and brilliant gigs in summer and winter.

I have been working here since 2010 and we really get on well as a team, which is a massive part of our ability to do the job as well as we like to think we do.

I have four boys and a husband I don’t get a huge amount of spare time but do try to support them on the football pitch or at Perranporth golf club when I can. Incredibly I also find time to get to the gym sometimes too – but only early in the morning!

Janice Smith

Janice Smith - Negotiator

Apart from Andrew and Deborah, I am Newquay Property Centre’s longest-serving employee, having joined in 1995. I’ve lived in Newquay for half a century and still love the place, especially the Gannel estuary – I love all those lovely houses overlooking the river – and love selling them even more!
